Jason Newsted was a criminally underrated and underutilized bassist and I can only imagine how much more he could have contributed to Metallica had his creativity been fully unleashed instead of stifling it. I miss Jason 😢

Like I've always said, nothing beats cliff, Roberts awesome, but then you have Jason the best of the best of course cliff was the original and invented the bass solos of today and Roberts been in the band longer than Cliff and Jason combined but Jason's love for his craft and his energy and his overall ability was like nothing else and can never be topped, he was amazing and his potential was truly kind of wasted

Always been a huge Metallica fan and for me all of their best music came in the Newsted era. There was just a different energy and aura about their music back then, especially live...they were the biggest and best band in the world in the 90's! It's not about Burton vs Newsted vs Trujillo. They are all great bass players but my Metallica would have Jason in it all day long! 🤟
